Red Rock K9 has exceeded our high expectations in numerous ways. We already had a black German Shepherd, so we knew that they’re wonderful dogs, which is why we went looking for a second one. We were very picky about the breeder we wanted to work with, and we traveled out of state for the perfect fit.

I don’t usually leave reviews for anything, but this is an exceptionally good family business that I’d recommend to anyone and support in any way I can. If/when we’re ready for another dog, we sure hope they’ll still be breeding, because we wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.

From our very first contact, Sam has been very involved in making sure we were well prepared for our puppy, keeping us updated on him and his training, and coordinating the day he transitioned from RRK9 to our home. Communication has been quick and clear. On puppy departure day, it was clear that Sam and Linsey had formed a relationship with our puppy and had treated him as part of their family.

Our RRK9 puppy has been the easiest we’ve ever had. We keep thinking any day now, he’ll start the usual biting, jumping, chewing, etc. that all puppies go through (or so we thought), but at almost 4 months now, it hasn’t happened, and he is a joy to be around all the time. He requires supervision and redirecting like any puppy, but he has a calm, happy temperament that makes him an excellent addition to our family and a pleasure to take out into the world away from our home.

Our pup came to us with significant training by Sam, Linsey, and their family, and he has absolutely taken off from there with Sam’s expert guidance via instructional videos. We’ve read a lot about dog training and worked with a handful of trainers before, but Sam has a way of noticing the tiniest details and making it clear how to tweak this or that to get better results. Our puppy loves training and is learning so fast! In addition to formal training, they worked with him on all the little things that help a puppy learn to be a nice dog, like handling him in a way that helped him learn not to jump or bite.

For anyone who might be reading reviews to try to determine whether the higher cost of a RRK9 compared to many other breeders is worth it… the answer is absolutely YES. We don’t typically throw money around, we look for bargains when reasonable, and we consider things carefully when we do choose to spend more than usual. We wouldn’t trade our first (non-RRK9) GSD for the world, and she’s a wonderful dog now, but we went through many difficult months with her because she didn’t have the solid foundation that our RRK9 has, and his head start on life has really made all the difference.

Maru is everything and more than we expected. She is totally loyal to us and doesn’t want to leave our side. She is a quick learner and a pleasure to train. Very smart and confident.
The 1200 mile trip out and back from California was seamless. Maru was a total trooper! How ever far you go RRK9 pups are totally worth it. Sam is incredible in his responses to whatever we need. You won’t be disappointed.

Been around Shepherds for 40 plus years from Junk Yard dogs to companion dogs and Lennox is easily the top of the crop. As everyone knows it’s time a patience while training a Shepherd and Red Rock puts such a good base under them it’s simple to add on and adjust to your own style. What a sweetheart with a great personally that is always happy every day and fun to watch her grow and learn. I spent multiple hours researching for our next puppy and we easily made the right choice!
