I get complements all the time!

We brought Luka home in September. He’s our 2nd RRK9 (first one was in 2013) and that should tell you all you need to know about the quality of these dogs and their foundation. Sam has done an excellent job with the first 3 months of life, training, and laying the groundwork as well as staying in touch and being involved in Luka’s continued training and development, even now, 9 months later. Sam has taken the time to respond to text messages, phone calls, and provide insight, training help, and much needed advice any time I have reached out.

Sometimes its easy to take for granted just how solid these dogs are until you witness first hand the stark difference between one of these dogs and another…Luka has been calm, well-behaved, and had no problem in large crowds, seeing new people, new dogs, strange environments, being caught off guard and startled and recovered in seconds. I can’t tell you how many comments and compliments I have gotten on him and the absolute shock on their faces when I tell them how old he is (almost 10 months at this writing). Being a puppy is no excuse for an untrained, ill-behaved dog.

I fully believe that having a dog with such solid breeding, foundation from the beginning, and training allows them to live their best life. Luka gets to come along and join us on all kinds of adventures because he is trained, confident, and stable. Otherwise he’d be sequestered at home watching silent hiking on YouTube instead of coming along on his own adventure.

Best Decision I’ve ever Made

Best Companion Ever!

I got Shoka back at the end of April. He has been the most amazing puppy and I thank all of it to Red Rock K9. He is well mannered (and I am not being bias – I have had multiple people tell me that!) He is the best decision I’ve ever made and I cannot thank RRK9 enough. Sam has been great and I don’t think I could have been any more prepared for this new transition in my life. Nerves of Steel

Perfect dog for our kids and family

His temperament is exactly what we were looking for

Thank you so much breeding such a great dog.  His temperament is exactly what we were looking for. For the most part, he stays in the house with us.  We constantly have friends, neighbors, repair men, etc to our door.  Bo does not bark, does not jump, and does not harass our visitors.  He is friendly to all comers.  We have taken him to a lot of different environments and he is never afraid or nervous.  When we take him to our ranch and the boys shoot guns, he doesn’t even react.  When I took him to the horse farm for my son’s riding lessons, he acted like horses are part of his daily routine.  When we go to the lake, he rides around in the boat and swims with the kids.  When we are around other dogs, he is great with bigger dogs and tiny dogs.

The video is of a game that Luke invented called dog football.  All of his friends love to come over and play.  The idea is to receive a pass and make a touchdown without letting Bo get the ball or touch the runner.

We are having so much fun with this puppy!

Hi Sam!

We took Viking to Bleu Garden downtown this weekend.  He did so great!  He was such a gentleman to everyone.  He never jumped on anyone, he ignored people that ignored him, he was as gentle as a lamb with babies (!) and kids that wanted to pet him, and he was perfectly friendly with every other dog he met (big and small).  And there were a lot of them.  It was noisy and crowded but he was calm and cool.  He got so many compliments and we were sure to tell people where we got him when they asked.  People complimented his behavior and all of them commented on how gorgeous he is.  Boy were we proud parents!  We can’t wait to take him again.  What a testament to your training and stellar breeding.  Thank you!

I’ve Never Owned a Better Dog

Full confidence when it comes to home protection and our kids

Before I found Sam & RRK9, I did a lot of research. I even searched out of state. Sam was eager & willing to answer all of my questions. He was available from start to finish. If I ever have questions, he is a text or call away. He is happy to answer anything, even after two years.

The picture is of Coop relaxing on “his” bench. He’s a gentle giant. He has a great personality & loves our kids. He knows when to play & when things aren’t quite right. I have full confidence in him when it comes to home protection & our kids. As anyone who has ever pulled up to our house knows, he is very intimidating & wouldn’t let anybody touch our kids.

He was fully crate trained when we picked him up from RRK9 & had an awesome foundation for basic commands. I’ve NEVER owned a better dog. Red Rock K9 gets an “excellent” rating from our family!!! I wouldn’t buy from anyone else!

High Expectations Exceeded

We hope to get another Red Rock K9 in the future

There are so many great things to say, it is difficult to know where to start. We looked several places for a GSD, all the rest just bred dogs. Sam does something far far different. He doesn’t just breed dogs he creates something far greater than just a pup handed over to you at 8 weeks. Our relationship with Sam has been great. He is easy to talk to, ask questions, and reach. Never have my questions gone unanswered and never have I felt alone through this whole puppy stage. Storm our pup has been the best experience ever. She was chosen for our family. We waited 9 months for her. Our expectations were very high by the time we got to pick her up. Sam still managed to exceed them. We attended the class the night before and puppy pickup. We learned so much but mostly how passionate Sam is about these puppies. For our family that was the best thing to witness. I could tell you about how smart Storm is because she is. I could tell you how she came to us already trained and that she has only had a handful of accidents in our house (awesome). I could tell you how after two days Storm handled meeting our 18 month old daughter and 3 boys better than any dog I have ever met in my life. I could tell you how easy it is to introduce something new to her and how quickly she picks it up. But she is a Red Rock K9 and that means something different. Mostly because there are lots of places that can hand you a GSD puppy. But what Sam has done, what Sam has created, is far more extraordinary. The difference at Red Rock K9 is Sam, and you can’t get him anywhere else. The dogs of course are superior but Sam cannot be duplicated and neither can his pups. We hope to in the future to get another pup and she will be a RRK9. Make the best decision and get your pup from him. You won’t regret it. We haven’t a single minute.

Protection Dog that is Relaxed and Gentle with my Family and Friends

I couldn’t have asked for a better fit. 

My experience with Red Rock Kennel relates to the acquisition of an imported, trained dog from the Czech Republic. We live in a rural area where there have been several home invasions, and I needed a protection dog. I have young grandchildren who visit frequently, and it was important that the dog be good with children as well as a companion for my wife and me. I have had many German Shepherds over the course of my lifetime, and I can say unequivocally that Cak is the best dog I have ever had. He is so friendly that at first, I was concerned that he was not protective enough. I took him to a local trainer who simulated an attack on me without a protective sleeve while I held him on a leash. Cak’s response was violent and immediate, leaving me fully confident in his training and ability. The trainer continued to work with Cak wearing a protective sleeve, and was impressed at the strength of his bite.

Although ferocious when tested, Cak is relaxed and gentle with my family and friends. I know that he would respond quickly to any threat to the family, but I have no fear that he will bite an innocent person. I don’t see how he could be a better fit for my personal situation.

This transaction was successful because of Sam’s relationship with reliable, competent trainers in Europe. My dog is exactly as he was described and I could not be more pleased with him.

I highly recommend Red Rock Kennel for anyone looking for a high quality German Shepherd.

We got what we had hoped for

In 40 years of being in horse sales I’ve never had anyone follow up after the sale like Sam did. 

A little over a year ago we contacted Sam about a German Shepard Puppy.  I told him exactly what we wanted.  Along with Sam’s advice we picked up our puppy May of last year.  Nicky has exceeded any expectations.  Having no experience in training dogs.  We started just working with her a little each day. It is absolutely amazing how smart Sam’s and Lindsay’s dogs are. The thing that has impressed us more than anything.  After Sam made the sale it was not as many breeders would do and not give the new owner any after sale support.  Sam has always been more than helpful with any questions.

We got exactly what we had hoped for.  Nicky is absolutely great.  You have bent over backwards to make this experience a positive one.  In all the 40 plus years that I have bought, sold and trained horses.  I have never had anyone follow up after the sale and ask how things are going.
