Watch 👀 10 week old puppy, Bane, absolutely conquer walking the OKC Airport 🙌

I didn’t get it all on video but he navigated the parking garage, elevator, airport terminals, and did extremely well in the “check in” office waiting for his journey to begin!

For all of our RRk9 puppy graduate owners that I have given examples and stressed the importance of our puppy “focused heeling.” Here is just one of the benefits and reasons why this skill can be a great tool and segue for introducing pup to new environments and beginning a normal loose leash walk.... this would be a prime example of its success. This puppy has never been on leash outside of our facility until now. 😎

🚨 9 week old Isabel Rose vom Red Rock K9 has graduated 🎉 our puppy training with some slight modifications. 😉 Isabel will go on to train with an experienced agility dog trainer / owner.

We had some specific goals to complete with Isabel which included: ➡️ Introduce her to new obstacles and challenges in a stress free and rewarding environment, ➡️ teach her a targeting method of “point and go” for reward, ➡️ a resemblance of “look to me for direction” while actively moving, ➡️ teach her to “wait” at a starting point and be released from a distance, ➡️ teach her that “stay” means I will return back to you, and perhaps most importantly ➡️ the ability to “chain link” several commands and obstacles together with only “click” rewards until an appropriate food reward is shared.

Isabel passed our challenges placed upon her with flying colors. It was my goal for her to be “self fulfilled” within the training activities. It became apparent that it was achieved when she didn’t want to exit the training room and looked to the handler for for more training and direction.

*Heights were kept under 6 inches on all of the obstacles and also shock absorbent mats were used. Heights in the puppies natural environment are much greater. Litter mate play can be more strenuous than that of this training. No obstacles were trained in excess and the engineering of the teeter totter was modified to be quiet and provide resistance on the fall.

Red Rock K9 puppy, Abel, learned some new skills outside of our normal puppy training program. It’s been a bit difficult keeping this a secret. After meeting Abel’s future owner nearly 3 weeks ago; I was inspired by her story, attitude, and courage. I began finding every bit of extra time in between training the #jennyxjokas litter to work with Abel on skills that I thought would benefit his future as a service dog. Abel began his service training around 6 weeks to 9 weeks old. As seen in the video it’s difficult for me to talk about without a flood of emotions interrupting.

Thank you for trusting us to provide you with your puppy and his early beginnings. We will remain dedicated to helping you in your service dog training journey.

Something I was not able to capture on video was Abel’s remarkable tenacity to not give up on any new object I presented to him. I really thought that when I tossed a heavy ink pen down that he would waiver in his willingness to retrieve it... but even that did not phase him.At the end of his normal training sessions he never wanted to leave the training area, often times, going back to perform a specific task we had been practicing.

Jager working the down from the heeling position and into a stay. We have been building focus and the watch me command from the basic position and tonight we are working on solidifying his position along with a little rear end awareness in finding the basic position.

This was just part of one session tonight. All puppies require work in different areas albeit we try to keep them working on similar behaviors. But inevitably the puppies will tell you when they are ready to perform certain tasks. 🤣
