We take our dogs everywhere and Rocky was the perfect temperament for it.

We’ve always had Labrador Retrievers but our 6 year old son had been begging for a German Shepherd for a year. Honestly, I was quite skeptical about the breed until we met a Red Rock puppy named Ranger on the ski slopes in Angel Fire, NM. The boys on the ski team were all petting him and playing with him in the snow. The owner told me I should contact Sam at Red Rock K9. I called Sam the next day and said “I don’t want a dog for sport or shows, I just want a pet that’s good with kids, breeding and titles don’t matter to me”. I was completely wrong. After some discussions with Sam we decided to put our name on the list for a puppy.

A couple months later, we decided to get a dark sable male import puppy that Sam was offering from his partners in the Czech Republic. We named him Rocky. He has been a fabulous addition to our family. His vet said that Rocky has the best temperament she’s ever seen for a young German Shepherd puppy. He goes everywhere with the neighborhood kids and they pretend he is a trained military dog or police K9. He is already very protective of our son but in a confident, stable way….not in a crazy aggressive way. He has nerves of steel and is really excelling at training. We need a well trained pet because we take our dogs everywhere with us and Sam worked with his contacts in the Czech Republic to find just what we wanted. Aside from being a magnificent looking dog, he has excellent breeding and the best temperament we could ever hope for.

Happy with our decision to get a Red Rock K9

I have been fortunate enough to earn the loyalty and devotion of four beloved German Shepherds through the years. After the loss of our last loyal and true German Shepherd companion of 14 years on 3 July this year (2017), I slowly began to research available German Shepherd puppies for adoption. After thorough research, we decided Red Rock K9 German Shepherds in Edmond Oklahoma was an excellent choice. Sam worked with us to pair us with a perfect fit of a 6 month old German Shepherd puppy named Sasha. After the first week, it became readily apparent to me that Sasha is blessed with exceptional intelligence and outstanding temperament. From Being a Previous Breeder, I Was Blown Away by the Difference

After years of breeding and showing German Shepherds, Red Rock K9 exceeded every expectation.

My background with German Shepherds is breeding and showing them in the AKC conformation ring. I love my show dogs and have to add that not all dogs shown in conformation are over angulated or spooky. Several of mine were sold for SAR work and several made good watch dogs. However, now that I am retired, I want to camp, hike and explore. I wanted not only a companion, but a serious personal protection dog. Enter Red Rock K-9! Sam sells puppies already trained in basic obedience which come from proven working lines or you can purchase adult trained protection dogs. The bonus for me is that Sam is a very skilled dog trainer and offers lessons on obedience and protection. Dargo, my puppy, is not only amazingly intelligent, he is showing me daily how bold he is in temperament accompanying me on my farm chores. I am very much looking forward to taking him with me on my explorations! Dargo is my buddy.

I am continuously blown away with his level of attention and dedication. On more than one occasion I have called Sam with a concern or question before calling our vet- that’s how much trust we have in him and how much we value his opinion. We got the perfect match and Red Rock K9 made the experience comprehensive and fun.

Best Dog We’ve Ever Had

A Beyond Special Experience

Impressed with the dogs intelligence & Red Rock K9’s level of commitment

We are just a few days shy of having our boy “Havok” with us for one month. I can’t begin to express the joy our boy has brought to us. From the moment we saw a first photo of him, his eyes and adorable face tugged out our heart strings, which was the perfect antidote needed to move beyond the loss of our GSD Aubrey. He is a handsome young pup bearing spectacular markings! To say I’m merely impressed with his level of intelligence would be a complete understatement and a disservice to Havok! He equally loves to play fetch with his tennis balls in the backyard, his Kong toys in the living room while perched on his Big Barker bed, and work on his training in the front or in the garage; always aiming to please and receive the response of him being a “good boy”!

Working with Sam on acquiring Havok was a very special experience, one that we wish we would have discovered and experienced earlier! It was extremely comforting to learn that his clients are vetted to ensure his dogs are placed into households that truly respect and admire the German Shepherd Dog breed and are fully cognizant of the time and dedication required to raise a well behaved dog. This not only ensures the future health and welfare of one of his pups will be provided, but is a true testimony of his admiration of the GSD breed and the integrity of his kennel. I’m confident in the future I’ll once again reach out to RRK9 in search of another GSD pup to serve as a companion to Havok.

Found the Perfect Match for Me

He is everything that Sam told me he would be!

So thankful to Sam and Red Rock K9. I had never gone through the process of importing when I lucked into RRK9 website, from the very beginning Sam was very helpful in determining what my needs might be and finding the perfect match for me. I had the opportunity to go visit the RRK9 Kennels and was extremely impressed at how well the facility was kept and how the dogs were treated. All through the process he quickly answered all my questions ( I had a lot) and kept in touch throughout the process, sending me videos and a lot of pictures. I can not thank Sam enough for his excellent customer service and the kind, compassionate manner in which he dealt with me during this process. I couldn’t be happier with my wonderful companion, he is everything and more that Sam told me he would be.
