Final Pup-date for the Gee Litter! 🐾

Usually these updates go out to the new RRK9 families, but we couldn’t resist sharing this one with everyone!

🐶 Luka-Blaze made the journey by car 🚗 all the way from Oklahoma to Florida 📍—and he was a total rockstar traveler!

🐶 Ozzy stayed close to home in Oklahoma 📍and has already become best buddies with 10-year-old RRK9, Baron 🤩. His junior handler has jumped right into training and is loving every second!

🐶 Sora took to the skies ✈️ and made it safely to Arizona 📍. She was the perfect traveler on the way to the airport and handled nearly 12 hours in the crate like a champ: OKC ⏩ DFW ⏩ FLG 🛬. Sora adds to our 💯 track record of airline travelers arriving completely accident free!!!

🐶 Sayla headed out today and is off to enjoy the ranch life in Oklahoma 📍🐴. Her new junior handlers came prepared with great questions, and we’re so excited about this perfect match!

We’re so proud of these pups and thrilled for their new adventures with their amazing families! ❤️🐾

These little milk drinking machines are growing 🤩

11 days new.

Mama Ruby is happy and loves to snuggle with her pups.

Ruby has been very confident with picking up her pups and ever so gently moving them around from day 1. So much so that she has recently insisted on moving them beyond the perimeter of the puppy box. After we moved the pups back once; she was apparently adamant about the “permanent” move to this corner so we have just rolled with it. 🥸

It’s been a few days here so just about the time they start walking we plan to move them back to their box when she will be distracted by their new movements.

Breeding Female

Description

Meet ULI, a remarkable dog with an impressive lineage that traces back to some of the most renowned names in the working dog world. Hailing from a distinguished bloodline, ULI inherits her exceptional qualities from both her sire, BAZI von Grosspriesen, and her dam, MINA Nokafi.

On her sire’s side, ULI can be linked to a lineage that includes notable dogs such as VICKO Meran, EDDY vom Verderen Schalk, OLI v. Kartago, TYSON Schiffschlache, BLACK-JACK v.d. Teufelskehle, HERO z Klidkova dvora, and the esteemed BAZI von Grosspriesen. Meanwhile, her lineage on her dam’s side connects her to the legendary working line established by the renowned FERO vom Zeuterner Himmelreich, a name synonymous with excellence in IPO/IGP competitions.

Characterized by a strong, self-confident demeanor, ULI embodies the best traits of both her parents. With a robust body frame, wide chest, and a powerful head, she exudes strength and elegance. ULI’s temperament is marked by a keen willingness to work, evident in her dedicated obedience, proficient tracking skills, and formidable protection abilities with strong bites.

Despite her young age, ULI has already achieved significant milestones, including meeting breeding requirements, attaining the IGP3 title, and earning a 1st breeding class evaluation, all before the age of two. These accomplishments underscore her exceptional potential and set high expectations for her future offspring.

Exciting update! The Gap x Uli litter has safely arrived despite the challenges brought on by the recent storms. 🐶🌪️

During a power outage late Tuesday night, we promptly activated our emergency plans and set up the generator to power our RRK9 facility. 🔋💡

In perfect timing with the power loss, Uli went into labor early Wednesday morning. 🌅 The day was a whirlwind of overseeing the safe delivery of each pup, ensuring the comfort of both mama and the newborns. 👶🐾

On our delivery day, we skillfully managed power distributions, conducted generator gas fill-ups, prioritized air conditioning for the RRK9 facility, balanced power loads, all while ensuring that Uli and her new pups were thriving. 🏗️🐕🍼

We're thrilled about the arrival of these new additions and grateful for the teamwork and dedication that made it all possible. Stay tuned for more updates and lots of puppy love! 🎉🐾💖 #GapxUli #NewPuppies #RRK9Family #Teamwork #PuppyLove

Finding the words to write this is incredibly difficult.

One of Bria’s three pups, born on Christmas Day, has already crossed the rainbow bridge after a tragic accident.

The owner did so many things right and responsibly in continuing his training and raising this pup.

I am sharing their story because his owner asked me to, so that no other dog owner should have to experience this heartache.

This is also a crucial reminder that the chew, toy, or ball that was once safe for your pup may become hazardous as they grow. Always err on the side of caution when choosing a ball size that cannot be swallowed. Many factors can be at play, including saliva, trajectory, angle of catch, and play.

I am heartbroken for her and want to share her words directly, as they tell her experience best. Please keep this RRK9 family in your thoughts and prayers.

---

“It is with unbelievable and gut-wrenching heartbreak that I tell you Beaux crossed the rainbow bridge this morning. I am gutted. I also feel it is very important to tell you and other large dog owners what happened for prevention purposes.

Beaux and I were sitting outside this morning. He was right next to me, chewing on his ball. He started choking, and I realized he had managed to swallow it. I jumped up, gave him multiple Heimlich maneuvers which dislodged it slightly. He jumped in my jeep under his own power, and I literally ran stop signs and red lights for three miles to the veterinarian. I ran in barefoot, yelled, and we got him back immediately. They were yelling, 'Turn on the machine.'

My veterinarian came in and told me they had gotten it out immediately but that he had pulmonary hemorrhage and was not going to survive. I had to let him go. My heart is absolutely shattered. I think I did all I could because I don’t have a pro suction machine nor can I perform a tracheotomy.

He was just a baby. He did not deserve that. I’m absolutely dying inside.

Finally, these were Chuckit! balls—the hard orange ones. He’s had them his entire life, and it was his favorite toy. He died playing with his favorite toy, which, unbeknownst to me, is small enough to swallow. Please pass this on so no one has to endure this. I’m so sorry to tell you. I’m very sorry for everything.”

---

Please note that this is not an attack on one specific brand, but rather an effort to create awareness that product needs, sizes, and safety can change as dogs grow. Please keep this story in mind and share it to help prevent such tragedies in the future. Thank you.

At Red Rock K9, we refer to our group of dogs that currently run together as "running buddies." Today, we merged two running buddies for a unique team! Our two female pals, Anabel and Bria (pictured 1 & 3), are the best of friends and common running buddies. Similarly, our two male buddies, Vader and Kobi (pictured 2 & 4), also enjoy hitting the trails together.

We combined these two favorite duos into a single group, and they had the best day ever! 🐾🌞🐶🏃‍♂️ #RunningBuddies #BestDayEver

We are thrilled to see her join such an amazing RRK9 family. Just over two months ago, Rip from the Bria x Zeus litter found his loving home with the Hutton family. Leya's endearing nature and charm continued to pull at their hearts, leading Sue to repeat the 22-hour round trip once again. 🚗💨

Wishing Leya and her new family countless happy moments, endless cuddles, and a bond that will last a lifetime! 🐶💕 #RRK9Family #ForeverHome #DedicationImage attachmentImage attachment+3Image attachment

Long before RRK9, back when I played football, it was an honor to wake up on Thanksgiving morning and head to practice. If you were on the field that day, it meant you were in the playoffs and the pursuit of the goal couldn’t stop. Tired and bruised from the season, we still showed up and worked. I remember feeling a deep gratitude, knowing so many players would have given anything to be in our spot.

It was an early life lesson. It taught me early on that if you’re blessed with something special, you owe it your full effort.

This morning, as I wake up to work with and train a litter of 8 pups, I’m reminded again that time doesn’t stop and the work continues. Their training is underway, and I feel that same sense of gratitude knowing I’ve been trusted to give them a head start before they head off to their RRK9 families.

I’m thankful for the families we’ve met, near and far—from all across the United States and even a handful of other countries. This year we’ve welcomed many first-time RRK9 families, and just this past week I had the privilege of reconnecting with a family whose dog I helped train nearly 15 years ago. Both of us are in new chapters of life, but we still share the same great love for the German Shepherd breed.

This Thanksgiving, we’re grateful that we get to continue doing what we love—and we’re thankful for each and every one of you reading this.

From our RRK9 family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving. 🦃🐾
