What is imprint training?
Imprint training is the act of teaching puppies the fundamental skills it needs to learn and interact with the handler. The puppy’s exposure to this positive learning environment during a critical period in the puppy’s growth and development is crucial when they are most impressionable. This critical learning period is usually labeled during the first 16 weeks of life. Puppies can learn more in this period than they can in a lifetime not only in training but when you take into consideration social skills with litter mates and the mother. The imprinting period can have enormous impact on a puppy’s personality and can set the stage for future good behavior.
We work on bite inhibition and discourage other unwanted behaviors. Puppies are introduced to slippery floors, new objects, and have regular socialization with young kids and new friendly faces. Rather than puppies leaving at 6 weeks old our puppies have extended social time with litter mates and the mother which studies have proven to be essential to healthy social development.

Foundation Training
We instill important skills such as chain linking multiple commands together. We build engagement through positive training and your puppy learns important communication skills with his handler.
We begin progressively training each command in a series of steps in order to achieve accurate and stable responses from the puppy. The totality of what we achieve by graduation can not be limited to a set number of commands. The focus and work ethic we build in the puppy along the way is paramount to future training practices. The core of our foundation training includes teaching the beginning stages for the following commands: Sit, Down, Stay, Here (Come), Wait, Place, Watch-me (focus), Basic Position (beginning heel), and introduction to walking on leash.

Clean Habits and Routines
We begin encouraging clean “bathroom” habits at a very early stage. Our puppies are raised in an extremely clean environment and begin using a doggy-door by 4 weeks of age. Our pups are accident free for a full 6 weeks before entering your home. Red Rock K9 puppies are also introduced to their crates at a very early age. We build trust and make the crate a safe and comfortable space. We increasing the period of time in short segments while progressing through our RRK9 Puppy Training Program. Our early potty training and crate practices makes for a much smoother transition brining a new puppy into your home.

Why is early imprint training so important?
We set the owners and the puppy up for success by conditioning the basic commands with no ambiguity in meaning and teach the puppy quickly and correctly from the very beginning. Let us start your puppy out on the right paw. Our program has lasting results beyond the basic commands. Red Rock K9 puppies love to work for their new owners. When the training is continued the outcome has exponential positive results. The training goes far beyond the commands as it teaches the puppy important focus and attention skills while also teaching the puppy to be able to handle several commands, one after the other, while remaining engaged. The training that we establish can easily be continued with every member of the family. We even have German Shepherd enthusiast sport trainers come to us for our nationally known imprint trained German Shepherd puppies.

What age will I receive my puppy?
The short answer. 10 weeks. A lot goes on in those 10 weeks.
