We had a full, productive day getting the outdoor puppy area set up while transitioning the litter into the final stage of using the puppy door.
The pups stepped outside with immediate confidence and settled right in. They enjoyed their first outdoor meal and feeding time under the shaded canopy—calm, natural, and exactly what we want to see at this stage.
This is where early development really starts to show.

Tuesday night, March 24th, started like any other… until it didn’t.
I was getting home later that evening when Linsey went out to check on Viki — and just like that, she had already delivered the first puppy. Linsey jumped right in, got the puppy moving, and the night officially began.
From there, Viki labored steadily through the night and into the morning, handling everything like a pro. There was even a long stretch where she rested and wasn’t in active labor, but when things picked back up, she found her rhythm again.
As we got toward the end, though, things changed.
She began struggling with what we thought was the last puppy. After about two hours of trying to assist — and me usually having good success helping pups through — we made the call to reach out to our friends at Great Plains Veterinary Services. They were incredible and got us worked in and their team went to work.
They were able to get the puppy out, but unfortunately, it didn’t make it.
At that point, we believed we were done… but decided to take an X-ray just to be sure — and that’s when we found out there were still three more puppies.
Viki was exhausted.
While she wasn’t in immediate danger, we knew pushing through naturally wasn’t the right call — not for her, and not for the remaining pups. To give them the best possible chance, we made the decision to move forward with a C-section.
Unfortunately, two of those three didn’t make it.
But we truly believe that decision is what saved the final puppy.
In the end, we are incredibly grateful.
Seven healthy puppies are here — five males and two females — and Viki is doing great.
From the first puppy at 8 PM to finally being settled back home with all the pups, it was a 17-hour stretch for Viki — and about 32 hours straight awake for me.
Proud of this girl and excited for their journey at Red Rock K9.

🔎 Spotlight on a recent Red Rock K9 graduate!
Today we’re spotlighting Riley and his handler, Jeffrey. They wrapped up our Online 15-Day Challenge Training Series last week, and it has been a pleasure watching these two grow and develop as a team.
They truly complement each other, and we couldn’t be more proud of the progress they’ve made together. 🐾
At Red Rock K9, we pour time, effort, and consistency into our program — and trust that the right people will find us. Our program has always been built through reputation, results, and relationships rather than online sales pages.
We’ve been honored to connect with incredible clients from all across the United States 🇺🇸 — and even from other countries 🌎 — who share our passion for building strong partnerships between dog and handler.
Congratulations to Jeffrey and Riley! 🎉 We’re excited to watch your journey continue.

Congratulations to the new Team Vader! 🐾
Vader truly clicked with each new member of his pack today. What started as me demonstrating his commands quickly turned into handing him off to each family member as we worked through the Czech pronunciations together 🇨🇿🗣️
Vader stayed completely engaged and incredibly patient with his new handlers — even when a command was slightly mispronounced or an action didn’t quite match the cue. He never showed frustration, only a genuine willingness to comply and please 🤝✨
Moments like this are exactly why we do what we do. 🖤🐕

Vader and Bria are “running buddies.” We let them out together every day, and most days they’re happy just roaming around and doing their own thing. But today, the heavy snow ❄️ sparked a full-on romp in the snow.
Today, we must play in the snow!
