On July 8th of this year we announced future plans for breaking ground after the first of the year on a new indoor training facility. Well, we are a bit ahead of schedule! A lot of time has been spent carefully planning the layout of our multi-functional training center. Our new indoor facility will include an area specific for puppy development. The puppy center has been planned and engineered to make all operations related to puppies run more smooth. Everything from simple cleaning duties, vet visitations, and new owners observing puppies will benefit.
We have included boarding suites exclusively for puppies and dogs that will be training with Red Rock K9. We look forward to expanding our training knowledge and expertise to a more diverse crowd of canine students. Working with different breeds of all shapes and sizes is not something new to me, but I have been limited to which training cases I take on due primarily to Oklahoma weather and conflicts with current puppy operations. BUT NOT ANYMORE!
And of course we are saving some features to be unveiled at completion!
If you really know Red Rock K9, you know our slogan: “German Shepherds Built on a Solid Foundation.” Every litter I remind new owners of the parallel that “building” anything meant to stand strong and weather a storm needs to be prepared with thoughtful planning, care, commitment, and dedication. Without a proper beginning it makes for a difficult finished product. It takes work. It doesn’t happen overnight. But that’s the beauty of Building anything that is meant to last.
I am sometimes surprised by the “surprise” in people’s compliments about our dedication to our dogs and program. As a young athlete I was groomed and conditioned to give a 110% of myself to the team and to the cause every time I stepped foot on the field. In my years of working in the construction world I learned that if something wasn’t finished correctly it wasn’t complete and if it wasn’t’ done with perfection in mind that it only left room for judgement. So there was only one way to proceed in creating a finished product.
So today, perhaps this is more for me to prepare myself of the journey ahead… but I needed to document this day. It’s for me, it’s for my family, it’s for the dogs I love, it’s for my clients – fans – and friends, dog friends and fellow trainers that I will still refer cases to and converse with… and perhaps to the newbie on the block that seemed to quickly find the beauty of the GSD through stock images for a training website… perhaps I should thank you too for nudging a sleeping giant off his small niche and onto the playing field.
With that, Red Rock K9 is officially announcing the “breaking of ground” for our new facility.
